Material Explorations
print $node_det->field_strapline['und'][0]['value'];?>This project is divided into three parts: an explorative part, an applied part, and a theoretical part. The explorative part aims to uncover properties of digital materials from a designerly perspective. That is exposing the (digital) materials in ways that inspire good design processes, opening the design space in interesting ways.
This also includes finding methods and tools to communicate these properties in understandable and inspiring ways to everybody in a multidisciplinary design team.
The applied part aims to present a few design cases where we ourselves make use of the findings from the explorative part. Through those design cases we aim to validate the usefulness of this approach.
Finally the theoretical part aims to describe how we see that interaction systems design needs to change to better care not only for users’ needs and desires but also design and materials, i.e. in this case digital materials.
